Dr. Massimo Giontella

Dr. Massimo Giontella (MBBS in Britain, MD in the US) is on the register of the Order of Doctors and Dentists in Florence (entry no. 10890).

He graduated in medicine and surgery from the University of Perugia, with full marks cum laude. He then specialised in physical and medical rehabilitation at Istituto Rizzoli in Bologna, which is internationally renowned for studying and treating complex orthopaedic and neurological illnesses. His lengthy experience began with general and orthopaedic surgery and associated first aid. He went on to focus on physical and medical rehabilitation for muscles, joints and nerves, and to study biomechanics.

For 20 years, Dr. Giontella ran the rehabilitation department at the hospital at Istituto Ortopedico Toscano, which is at the cutting edge of orthopaedics in Europe. He has worked a great deal as a consultant for medical bodies like the Italian Red Cross, and as a supervisor of rehabilitation work at the Florence health authority's clinics. Dr. Giontella has also run the orthopaedics office at Istituto Ortopedico Toscano. He holds a number of international patents for splints for orthopaedic and neurological rehabilitation, which have been presented at a range of conferences in Italy and abroad. The musculoskeletal and peripheral nervous systems are Dr. Giontella's main areas of interest as he studies and works on diagnoses, assessments and treatment.
